How to Not Buy a New Couch
Do you ever look at a room in your house, and think it needs a change?
Whether that’s a new rug, new paint, or a new piece of furniture, you just need something to give it a little update. I feel like this is an ongoing cycle in my mind. So, instead of always buying something new, I’ve decided maybe I could simply rearrange the furniture, to see if it functions better, or if it gives me enough satisfaction to not always open the ole checkbook.
Recently I was looking around our living room-Tired of the rug. Tired of the couches. Tired of the chairs. Tired of basically everything. This is dramatic as hell, as we have barely been in this house for 2 years. So I told my husband I’m going to rearrange the furniture, so I don’t buy a new couch. He was obviously so thrilled, and said he couldn’t wait for further instructions. Maternity leave is great for many things.
Even though he hates to admit it, Blake says he quite enjoys the new set up. Now we can sit 5 deep on the couch, and really enjoy an episode of Bluey. We shall see how long it lasts, but for now, it’ll do. So if you’re feeling like you need a refresh, see what happens when you shuffle some things around. Who knows, you may get a dopamine rush. You may not. And if you don’t, just buy the new couch.
